Based on the charging method, car charging stations can be broadly classified into two categories: DC charging stations and AC charging stations. DC charging stations, also known as fast charging stations, directly convert AC power from the grid into DC power, providing fast charging services for electric vehicles. They offer high charging power and fast charging speeds, but the equipment cost is higher. AC charging stations, on the other hand, convert AC power from the grid into DC power through an onboard charger. Their charging power is relatively lower and the charging speed is slower, but the equipment cost is lower and their adoption rate is higher.
Furthermore, based on the installation location, car charging stations can also be classified into public charging stations, dedicated charging stations, and private charging stations. Public charging stations are mainly installed in public places, such as shopping malls, parking lots, and highway service areas, for public use; dedicated charging stations are installed in specific locations such as enterprises, institutions, and residential communities, for specific users; and private charging stations are installed in private residences or garages for the owner's personal use.
